Information: Recommended Books for Gift-Giving
Readers may remember my “Give Books for Christmas” posts from past years. This year’s list is a mix of fiction and non-fiction.
- The Long Road Home: How God Forms Our Prodigal Souls by Earle L. Wilson and Lawrence W. Wilson. A new perspective on the parable of the prodigal son, this book has 30 chapters which could be used as devotional readings. I reviewed it here.
- Habits for Our Holiness: How the Spiritual Disciplines Grow Us Up, Draw Us Together, and Send Us Out by Philip Nation. The author presents a fresh approach to spiritual disciplines. My review is here.
- Angela Hunt’s Dangerous Beauty trilogy, fictional treatments of Bible beauties, Esther, Delilah, and Bathsheba, offered as a set on Amazon. All three are reviewed on my book review blog.
- Virginia Smith’s Tales of the Goose Creek B & B series. Five books comprise the series at this point. The novella, Dr. Horatio vs. the Six-Toed Cat, introduces the series and the characters. Three full-length novels follow. I mentioned Goose Creek Christmas (still free on Kindle as of this writing) in a previous blog post. It’s longer than the first installment but shorter than the other novels.

Inspiration: A Thanksgiving Meme
The photo was taken in my yard, and I created the meme with PicMonkey. The words are the first verse of one of my favorite hymns, “For the Beauty of the Earth.”
