Another reason to write articles is that you can usually reach more people with your message. We are to use it for His glory, not ours. It is a difficult part of the writing process for me. I am constantly looking for markets (the paying kind) but then I write something for the church drama group and get feedback. eg. "This is the best thing I think you've done." I struggle with the same thoughts. But, like you, resolve that it is God's calling. My success is not measured in dollars, but in lives touched. So, I keep writing and blogging. If I didn't, I don't know what I'd do when I came in here. It's a lovely room God provided for me to do His work. Writing is something I must do for Him and in the process, my hope is that lives will be impacted for His glory. Amazing how you wrote about the same battle that resides in me. Especially the part about being able to do other things and not feel guilty that I'm not writing. I could get my house clean and keep it clean, have some nice, safe hobbies, spend hours reading. But no, I have to be a writer... But that's the point, for me at least. I have to write. I've been doing it since grade school, and I can't stop. Being a writer is such a part of my identity that I can't let it go. It IS a calling, and I have to follow where it leads... or rather, where God leads me with it. sigh... Well, who needs a clean house anyway?? I know what you mean. Especially the part about being able to do other things and not feel guilty that I’m not writing.
