Selling Your Book by John Vonhof
Full title: Selling Your Book: The No Nonsense, Step-By-Step Marketing & Promotion Workbook
Are you a writer? Do you want to get a book published? If so, you need to learn everything you can about marketing. Even if you get a contract with a royalty publisher, you will be expected to help sell your book.
Vonhof does a great job of marketing his own books. He also teaches marketing at writers’ conferences around the country. His workbook approach is perfect for writers/authors who hate marketing and/ or have no marketing background. He doesn’t miss a thing—from initial market analysis to implementing your marketing plan.
For a full description of the book’s contents, see his site at http://www.footworkpub.com/selling.html. My copy is the 2004 print edition, but a new edition in e-book format is coming out in 2009. See the home page at http://www.footworkpub.com/. I think I’ll be one of the first in line to get the new edition, as I expect that he has added new how-to information on marketing on the Web.
If you have some marketing expertise, wait for the new edition. However, if you’re like most writers and marketing isn’t your thing, the 2004 edition is a must-have for you.
