<li>From <em>Writers’ Digest</em> comes <a href="http://blog.writersdigest.com/norules/2010/10/22/OnlineMarketingWorksIfYouHaveTheLongView.aspx">Online Marketing Works If You Have the Long View</a>. Sure, they always tell us that we must have patience. But, we need to hear it again and again.</li>
<li>The <em>Writer’s Weekly</em> site features an 11-part series on online book marketing. <a href="http://writersweekly.com/the_latest_from_angelahoycom/006052_05192010.html">Start here</a>. There’s plenty of good advice in this series.</li>
<li>And, one of my favorite bloggers, Lawrence Wilson, offers this post entitled <a href="http://www.lawrencewilson.com/2008/08/advice-on-writing-memoir.html">“Advice on Writing a Memoir.”</a> And&#8212;you might wonder why I include this article with others on marketing. As I’ve mentioned many times in my marketing articles and classes, you need to start thinking about your reader before you create a product. Wilson’s article outlines the publisher’s point of view. The main question a publisher must ask is, “Will it sell?”</li>

I’ve been on Twitter and Facebook for several months, and I’m not sure yet whether it’s worth the time required to follow others and respond. However, I’ve recently researched how other writers are using the social media, and I want to share some of the things I’ve found with you.</p>
<p>First, <a href="http://www.wikipedia.com/" target="_blank">Wikipedia</a> defines Social media thusly: <strong>“Social media</strong> describes the <a title="Online" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Online">online</a> technologies and practices that people use to share opinions, insights, experiences, and perspectives. Social media can take many different forms, including text, images, audio, and video. These sites typically use technologies such as <a title="Blogs" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blogs">blogs</a>, <a title="Message boards" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Message_boards">message boards</a>, <a title="Podcasts" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Podcasts">podcasts</a>, <a title="Wiki" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wiki">wikis</a>, and <a title="Vlog" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vlog">vlogs</a> to allow users to interact.”</p>
