Donna Clark Goodrich, author of A Step in the Write Direction, reminded me that her book is a one-stop resource on both subjects. So, I’m recommending her book, and repeating my review.

Do you wish you could find one resource that would walk you through the process of getting your writing published? Well, Donna Clark Goodrich has done every beginning writer a favor by filling that need. The subtitle of the book is “The Complete How-to Book for Christian Writers.”

Oh, there are other “how-to-get-published” books for the Christian market out there. It’s just that most of them are out of date. Donna includes an FAQ section in the introductory section of the book. For each question, she lists the page number where the answer is found. There are a number of appendices that include how-to information on everything from Word shortcuts to how to form a writers’ group.

The book truly includes everything you need to know to get started as a freelance Christian writer today. There’s even a chapter entitled “Social Networking and Online Promotion.” It’s an oversize soft-cover book that feels much like a textbook, but it’s reasonably priced at $21.95 plus shipping.

Experienced, published writers will find useful tips, too. Donna points out that the book helps advanced writers in such things as:

Other ways to make money as a writer,

Income taxes,

Collaborating,

Devotional booklet guidelines,

Microsoft Word shortcuts,

Alternative fields of writing, and

Editing hints.

There’s a new student edition especially for young writers, too. Just visit Donna’s site and scroll down for details.

Do you want to be published? Do you need a step-by-step guide on how to do it? Mary DeMuth has produced this affordable e-book to help you get started on your writing journey.

Like many published authors, Mary often had people ask her how she did it. For two years, she maintained www.wannabepublished.blogspot.com, a blog that she hoped would answer “any and every question” you have about getting published. Although the blog is still out there for those who want to browse, this new e-book is a better, more organized source for the information.

Have you bought e-books that said they had 60 pages only to find that they had wide margins, gigantic fonts, and triple-spacing? This e-book contains 60,000 words and an absolute wealth of information. The eleven chapters cover learning the craft, discipline, knowledge of the publishing industry, accepting critique, queries and proposals, marketing, overcoming fear and rejection, understanding key players, writers conferences, excelling in your genre, and thriving in your career. I don’t know if you’ll get all your questions answered, but Mary covered most of mine!

At only $4.99, The 11 Secrets is well worth the price. I got the PDF version, and I found myself wanting to print the chapters out so that I could highlight and make notes on the pages. However, once I did the math, I realized that printing the 216 pages of the PDF would be very costly.

Don’t waste any time. Buy it today! Link from the graphic below to buy the Kindle version on Amazon. You can see the table of contents and a sample chapter using the Look Inside feature before you buy. (Note to e-mail subscribers: If you don’t see the graphic link, use this link to go to my site, then link to Amazon.)
